James Williams, Owner

My name is James Williams. I am the business owner of Se'maj Beauty Studio, a premier Hair and Aesthetic salon in Nashville, TN. Se'maj offers many of the skin and full body care services normally found only at the very exclusive health and day spas. These unique services may be enjoyed without traveling to a faraway destination or without the time restraints of a day spa. This concept offers upscale new services combined with more traditional beauty treatments at the convenience of the client and within the budget of the majority.

I received my Cosmetology degree in December 1992 from Queen City College in Clarksville, TN. and an international degree from McKenzie's of London in 1990. I have also received continuing education training from Sam Fine Make-up Artistry, Revlon Color Boot Camp, L'Oreal Knowledgelab, Paul Mitchell Associate Training, Sisterlocks Natural Hair Care & advanced weaving techniques. I am honored to have been part of the American Idol hair design team in 2003 at the Wildhorse Saloon where Ruben Studdard began his career in the music industry.

Se'maj has been selected as 1 of only 24 salons in the nation to exclusively feature the L'Oreal Professionnel Se'rie Treatment program. This Se'rie Expert system enhances the salon service to create the ultimate hair care experience. Salon specific treatments and expert homecare formulas optimize your stylist's work. Thus, creating beautiful, strong, healthy hair.

Ricky Thomas, Business Manager

My name is Ricky Thomas.  I am a graduate of St. Pius X School and Father Ryan High School.  I received my Bachelors of Business Administration with Management concentration degree from Tennessee State University in 1989.  I bring 18 years of management experience to Se'maj.  I have had extensive training in building a team and growing a business. I left Corporate America June 2004 to assist James in this endeavor. My goal for and commitment to Se'maj is to exceed the expectations of our clients each and every time. We want every visit to be just like your first.

We aspire to build a company with a strong character of integrity and ethical conduct dedicated to providing very competitive, innovative, quality beauty products and services to our clients. We build long-term relationships with our clients, helping them create their personal best through our services, products and caring team. We will exceed our commitments to and expectations of our clients, our team and our community. This will set the standard for exceptional beauty enhancing services and products.
